Buses bringing construction workers back

Nine buses from the Lingang headquarters of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp will take back 157 workers from Jiangsu, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces for the construction of the second and third stages of Harbor City Plaza, Lingang Science and Technology City and other projects.
The builder of several landmarks in the Lingang area chartered buses on Tuesday morning to pick up migrant workers and return them to their jobs.
Nine buses from the Lingang headquarters of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp will take back 157 workers from Jiangsu, Anhui and Jiangxi provinces for the construction of the second and third stages of Harbor City Plaza, Lingang Science and Technology City and other projects.
Workers will be picked up at designated stops in nine cities which are not in key affected areas. All the buses will be half full and there will be support personnel on board.
The details of every worker will be noted with health declaration forms filled out.
After they arriving in Shanghai, they will have their temperatures measured before getting off the bus and be in quarantine for 14 days.
During the quarantine period, they will be paid and the company will provide free accommodation.
Despite the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, also known as COVID-19, 971 companies in Lingang have resumed work. By the start of this week, over 40,000 people had gone back to work there, with precautionary measures ensuring safety, said Wu Xiaohua, deputy director of the Lingang Special Area Administrative Committee.
Almost every enterprise with an annual output of 100 million yuan and above in Lingang had resumed operation, Wu said.
Construction of buildings in 19 new projects has also resumed, Wu added.
