Veteran artist shows six decades of work
An exhibition of the works by veteran artist Wan Futang is ongoing at the art museum of the Shanghai Oil Painting & Sculpture Institute through October 18.
It is one of a series in a project called “Passing Down to the New Generation.”
Born in 1942 in Shanghai, Wan was admitted to the oil painting department of Shanghai Art College and tutored under big names such as Wu Dayu, Zhou Bichu and Yu Yunjie.
The exhibition features nearly 80 of Wan’s canvases, pastels and sketches created in the past six decades.
