New mid-life crisis romance series to hit the airwaves

“Wonderful Life,” a realistic urban romance series, will debut on Dragon TV on February 28.

With a star-studded cast including Zhang Jiayi, Li Xiaoran and Song Dandan, the heartwarming series focuses on middle-aged people. Despite work pressure, divorce and confusion, they still long for love and a wonderful life.

Zhang, known for his performance in several spy thrillers, depicts a middle-aged man who has failed in his career and marriage. He receives a heart transplant, with the donor being a woman’s late husband. The two unexpectedly fall in love.

The series is one of the few productions recently to tackle middle-age crises.
