New reality show to display 'charm' of robotics
New robotics reality show “Clash Bots” will hit screens on iQIYI on March 29, displaying the cutting-edge technology of robot battle which originated in the United States in the 1990s.
Professional robot builders from home and abroad will remotely control robots in arena battles. The most outstanding robot builders will be selected by celebrities including actress Angelababy and actors Lin Gengxin, Li Chen and Sheng Yilun, who will form their own competing teams.
According to Chen Wei, vice president of iQIYI and the show’s producer, it is a fresh attempt to make a variety show where robots take center stage. The battle of the robots will also be told through interesting stories.
“We hope that the program will make robot battle more accessible to Chinese audiences,” Chen said. “It is also a chance for Chinese people to learn about the charm of robotics.”
