A local incubator has become a new member of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone’s offshore innovation and entrepreneurship center for overseas talent, it was announced on Wednesday.

The center was inaugurated in August 2015 and was set up in 2016 so as to lure more overseas professionals.

It works with co-working spaces and incubators to offer venues to overseas professionals to start up businesses in the free trade zone. They can also enjoy a series of favorable policies such as subsidies, counseling services and quick access to work permits.

A local incubator called Lianggu has become the latest to join the program, becoming the eighth member.

Now, the Pudong New Area has 134 co-working spaces and innovators, and about 4,000 startups are being incubated, according to Pudong’s science and technology commission.
