Shanghai Party chief meets global business leaders attending IBLAC
Shanghai’s Party Secretary Li Qiang met with three top executives of foreign conglomerates attending the 30th International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai on Monday.
Li expressed his gratitude to the entrepreneurs for their contributions to the development of Shanghai and said the city will stick to the reform and opening-up policy and accelerate the construction of “five centers” according to the instructions and requirements of President Xi Jinping.
Li made the remarks during his talk with Salil Parekh, CEO and managing director of Infosys, Koji Nagai, president and Group CEO of Nomura Holdings, and Rob Speyer, president and CEO of Tishman Realty & Construction.
Shanghai will further sharpen its core competitiveness comprehensively according to the highest international standard, so the city needs global vision and wisdom, Li added.
Shanghai aims to develop into an international economic, finance, trade, shipping and innovation center in the future.
The entrepreneurs expressed their confidence in the development of Shanghai and China, and their willingness to deepen cooperation and exchange with the city.
