Guizhou Province will stage an intangible cultural heritage exhibition in Huangpu District over the weekend to showcase its heritage, the province's tourism authorities said on Thursday during a tourism promotion event in Shanghai.

The showcase at Shanghai Great World features a drama that spotlights about 20 national intangible cultural heritages of Guizhou, and displays the lives and marriage customs of different ethnic minorities in the province. It also includes a handmade intangible cultural heritage DIY show with visitors invited to learn batik and Miao embroidery, plus a food tasting event, local folk culture performances and more, according to the Guizhou Province Culture and Tourism Administration.

The period between June and August is the travel peak time for Guizhou, with tour packages ranging around five to six days the most popular, according to online travel operator Tuniu.

Guizhou is famous for a variety of attractions such as Huangguoshu Waterfall, Xijiang's ethnic Miao community, as well as Libo’s picturesque landscapes of karst.

The tourism event is being held as part of Guizhou's showcase for the 2018 China International Travel Mart, running between Friday and Sunday at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong New Area.
