Yuncheng City in north China's Shanxi Province announced six tourism routes that capture the essence of the ancient city during a tourism promotion event in Shanghai.
These itineraries string together the Guandi Temple, the Yongle Palace, Guanque Tower and Lishan primeval forest park.
They are full of historical insights including the use of fire, water treatment and the use of salt in ancient times.
Yuncheng located on the middle reaches of the Yellow River is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization.
The city is also home to Mount Wulaofeng, Dayu Ferry and Shengtian Lake.
