Families have fun with science in Baoshan
Baoshan District celebrated National Science Popularization Day over the weekend with fun, informative family activities related to ecology and environmental protection at Lingang Innovation Galaxy, a local science and technology park.
The district has organized a total of 222 science popularization events throughout September in celebration of the day. These are intended to promote the district's achievements in science and technology, popularize innovative thinking and boost entrepreneurship.
At Lingang Innovation Galaxy, the day's main venue, activities were organized into three sections. The courtyard hosted original science popularization shows, garbage-sorting games and exhibitions on science and technology, schools, innovators and environmental protection.
The C+ Cinema section showed science education cartoons, and the PAPAMAMA parent-child amusement park organized experiments with dry ice.
Activities also called for the reduction of plastics and showcased new materials such as graphene, a super thin material that's 100-times stronger than steel.
