Shanghai's two airports have begun checking the temperatures of all passengers flying to Shanghai to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus outbreak.
Passengers with high temperatures will be sent to designated medical facilities, the Shanghai Airport Authority said on Monday.
The Pudong and Hongqiao international airports have beefed up coronavirus prevention measures and register all passengers flying from central China's Hubei Province.
The measures have been further upgraded following orders from the city government and Civil Aviation Administration of China on coronavirus control, authorities said.
Further intensified disinfection and ventilation measures have also been carried out at terminal buildings, transport hubs, shuttle buses and toilets at Pudong and Hongqiao airports.
Corridors and temperature screening channels used by passengers arriving on Hubei flights will undergo stricter disinfection measures, the airport authority said.
Both Shanghai airports will also enhance protections for employees at the security and temperature checkpoints as well as other posts with high infection risks. Medical, security checks and service staff have been equipped with mask, glove and hand sanitizer.
Broadcasts and signs at the terminal buildings have also begun displaying disease prevention information.
