A man has been detained for attacking a guard at a residential complex in Putuo District, the district police said on Sunday.
The incident took place at 8:40am on February 5 at the residential complex on Lane 450, Shiquan Road.
The man surnamed Zhang, who is a resident there, declined to register when entering and attacked a guard after getting into a quarrel with community volunteers and the guard, police said.
Zhang will be detained for 10 days and be fined 500 yuan (US$71).
