1 new imported case reported in Shanghai
One more imported case of novel coronavirus was reported in the city on Saturday, while 11 imported cases — eight from Russia, two from Brazil and one from France — were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Sunday morning.
The new patient, a Chinese living in the US, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on April 23.
The newly diagnosed case has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment and 43 close contacts on the same flight have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.
So far, of all the 303 imported cases, 227 have been discharged upon recovery and 76 are still hospitalized, including one in critical condition.
Another nine imported suspected cases are undergoing test.
No new locally transmitted cases or suspected cases were reported on Saturday.
Of all the 339 local cases, 331 have been discharged upon recovery and one being hospitalized is in serious condition. There have been so far seven local fatalities.
No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation right now, the health commission said.
