One new imported coronavirus case was reported in the city on Friday, while two imported patients from United Arab Emirates were discharged from hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Saturday morning.

The newly diagnosed case is a Chinese working in UAE who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on May 17.

The patient has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while 52 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down and put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 331 imported cases, 324 have been discharged upon recovery and seven are still hospitalized.

Another four imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Friday.

Of all the 341 local cases, 333 have been discharged upon recovery and one is hospitalized for treatment. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
