Xinhua Hospital opens new pediatric care building
The new pediatric service building of Xinhua Hospital started trial operation on Friday, offering a patient-oriented, intelligent and professional environment for young patients.
Xinhua Hospital is one of four hospitals with leading pediatric capabilities in Shanghai. The new building, which has outpatient and emergency departments and one surgical unit, will become the major service facility for children, hospital officials said.
The building has its own paths, which are not shared with adult patients. This design also reduces the chance of cross infection.
To ease children’s anxiety when visiting the hospital, the new building is decorated with kid-friendly paintings, sculptures, cartoons and small playgrounds to make children feel comfortable.
“We are combining more advanced theories and managements into the new building. Children can have a better experience and also better treatment in our hospital,” said Sun Kun, president of Xinhua Hospital.
Kid-friendly paintings are everywhere in the new pediatric building.
