Ten trains departing from, or stopping at, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station on Tuesday and Wednesday have suspended operations due to Mekkhala, the sixth typhoon to strike the region this year, China Railway Shanghai Group announced on Tuesday.

Affected trains include D2287, running from Hongqiao to Shenzhen North Railway Station; D3323, from Hongqiao to Jingdezhen North Railway Station; and D3145, from Hongqiao to Ganzhou Railway Station.

D3141, operating from Nanjing to Longyan; and D3136, from Ganzhou to Nanjing, which both stop at Hongqiao station, are also on the service suspension list.

Full refunds will be offered to ticket holders of affected trains, the group said.

Rail authorities will follow the development of the typhoon closely and adjust schedules accordingly, it said.

Mekkhala landed in east China's Fujian Province on Tuesday morning, local meteorological authorities said.
