Couples will be able to get married on the first day of the National Day Holiday in Shanghai but centers will then close from October 2 to 8 as they take a break.

Marriage registration centers across the city will remain open on October 1, the first day of the National Day holiday and also the Mid-Autumn Festival, Shanghai's civil affairs authorities announced on Wednesday.
They will close from October 2 to 8, the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said.
Reservations are suggested and can be made via Shanghaifabu, the city government's WeChat account.
Couples where one has Shanghai hukou, or registered residency, and foreigners or overseas Chinese from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan should visit the Shanghai Marriage Registration Center on 80 Caobao Road to tie the knot.
