Kindergarten cops not needed in Wuxi

Chinese law enforcement agencies launched an upgraded version of their national tip-off platform against gang crime on Tuesday, said Xinhua, just one day after officials of an education authority in east China got it woefully wrong.
A survey form dated May 27 asked teaching staff whether there were any organized crimes in Xinguang Kindergarten, Xishan District, Wuxi, Jiangsu.
Residents of Xishan District can now sleep more soundly in their beds, safe in the knowledge that the two teachers who signed the form stated categorically that out of the 35 children in their class, none was involved in gang activities.
Xishan District government said on Thursday in a statement that officials had “misinterpreted” policies in the campaign against gang crime, describing the survey as “formalism,” which, along with hedonism, extravagance and bureaucracy, is one of the "four forms of decadence" the Party has been fighting for years.
Feng Dongyan, director of Xishan District Education Commission, was given a warning. Another two officials were removed from their posts, according to the statement.
