At least 17 people have been rescued after a boat carrying 27 people sank at the confluence of the Lancang River and Nanban River in southwest China's Yunnan Province early on Thursday morning, according to local transportation authorities.
Search and rescue operations for others onboard the vessel before the sinking are underway.
