China said on Tuesday that the United States should immediately stop the political suppression of the US-based Chinese media and journalists.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin made the remarks when commenting on the fact that no Chinese journalists in the United States have had their applications for visa renewal approved since May.
In May, the US side issued new guidelines, restricting visas for journalists of Chinese origin to 90 days with the possibility of extension.
