Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival to be held in September
Sports Federations in districts of Huangpu, Yangpu, Hongkou, Xuhui and the Pudong New Area are co-organizers of this year's festival.
The 2019 Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival will begin on September 21.
Introduced by Shanghai Sports Bureau and Shanghai Sports Federation in 2009, the festival promotes healthy lifestyles and cooperation between event organizers.
Five runs along riversides in Hangpu, Yangpu, Hongkou, Xuhui and the Pudong New Area involving 7,000 participants will open this year’s festival.
Sports association and societies will organize competitions, performances and experience activities in disciplines like rope skipping, taekwondo and sports dance.
Organizations from nearby cities in the Yangtze River Delta will be invited to the festival.
